Rocko's Story...
Up for adoption: Rocko.

He can be adopted in Texas.

Rocko is a sweet, fearless, happy puppy. He loves all people and seems to like all other dogs. He's living with 7 others in foster, ranging in size from 12 to 72 pounds and wants to play with all of them.

His foster is also a DOG TRAINER-- how cool is that?! Rocko listens to corrections from the dogs and from his foster mom. He follows her everywhere and loves to be near her. Rocko is house trained. He has not needed to be crated but he's learning to be crate trained anyway. He's already learned sit and come, and has done great off leash on the trail. He's still working on not pulling on
leash, but at 40 pounds he doesn't pull hard.

He's probably as big as he's going to get. He's learned he's not allowed on the furniture, even though the home dogs are, so he'd be ready for any rules in his forever home. He's the total package just waiting to be delivered.
Rocko is about 10-11 months old. He's neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocko, a Austin Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
