My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We shared a little about Louie a few days ago. He was found wandering as a stray in the country a couple of weeks ago. He weighed only 50 lbs at the shelter when found, and is now up to 56 lbs pictured here. He is now safe with our rescue but he is far from ready for the future right now. He is anemic, emaciated and blind, with small wounds all over his body and at the moment, battling an upper respiratory infection. He is super sweet & gentle. He saw our vet Friday & he is believed to have juvenile cataracts, which is apparently both rare, and repairable. Once he is well from the URI, he can see the Opthamalogist for an exam & further testing. The exam & testing to verify cataract surgery would restore his eyes will be apprx $650 & the surgery to restore his sight will be $4,000. We have some time to prepare, because the URI will likely run its course of 7-14 days, and he needs to gain weight before he can safely undergo anesthesia. We hope to confirm everything and restore this sweet boy's sight. What an amazing gift that would be. He is estimated at 9-12 months of age. If you'd like to help Louie, you can donate through our website at LoneStarDobermans.org
