TULIP's Story...
TULIP's photos speak for themselves. If you love a big wrinkly faced sweetie, this girl is absolute perfection! As of 1/1/2016 Tulip will be 10.5 months old. This girl is totally potty trained, perfect in her crate, and knows not to chew on anything that doesn't belong to her! TULIP knows sit, shake, lay down, and has graduated from level 1 obedience at ProTrain. Every staff member at ProTrain fell in love with her. She loves car rides, children, and just being wherever her humans are. TULIP lives in a foster home with 2 large dogs and a small dog. She is fabulous with them. She has also done extremely well at doggie daycare. However, TULIP isn't the best at first meetings encounters. Although she wouldn't ever try to hurt another dog, she is a BIG lady and she gets quite excited at first. She also verbally (not physically) sternly corrects other dogs who are annoying her by not respecting her personal space. This won't be any problem if Princess TULIP goes to a home where she is the only dog. If she is going to share her forever home with other pups, she needs extremely experienced adopters and/or a family who is committed to working with a trainer for the first 30 days while everyone is getting acquainted.
TULIP is possibly the most adorable girl we have ever laid eyes on. Each and every person who has met her thinks she is a dream come true. We know her forever family will feel the exact same way!

TULIP is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to New England.

For an adoption application on TULIP, please email her adoption coordinator at weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com

All of our dogs start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TULIP, a Harrisburg Bullmastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bullmastiff for sale in Harrisburg, or seeking a Bullmastiff dog from a breeder in Harrisburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bullmastiff breeders who help with Bullmastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
