Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Jake. I just turned 6 and am a Bluetick Coonhound. My start to life wasn't all that great as I was purchased to be a hunting dog - something that I'm not very good at. That owner was also the one who froze the "W" into my right ear with liquid nitrogen. My second owner saved me and gave me a wonderful life until she got sick and could no longer take care of me. I'm now in foster care with Happy Tails Happy Homes and think it's a great adventure. I love other dogs and would really love a family where there is another dog already in the home. I am a hound so I follow my nose everywhere - no off-leash running for me! I need a fenced yard and a commitment to give me the exercise and attention that I need. I don't need a marathon, but I do need regular walks and something to stimulate my brain - I'm pretty smart! I like kids but when I get super excited I tend to nip, so please take that into consideration. I enjoy playing and love to pull every toy out of my toy box. My favorites are the ones that squeak. I will chase cats and other woodland creatures and I do bay (I AM a hound, remember!). I'm really just a good natured boy but I do know I'm not right for every family...but might I be right for yours?
