Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The good news is that I am named after Vincent Van Gogh. I’d like to say that happened because I am an accomplished painter; however, it was because I was found to have bad ear infections in both ears. I’m getting treatment for them, though, and expect to go online and order an easel and oil paint shortly as I start this new chapter of my life. I am a happy, curious, and friendly guy, so I’m looking forward to a forever home with nice people who let me decorate the house with my paintings.
Vinny is 2 and 1/2. He is not small dog or cat tolerant.
FOSTER UPDATE:
Vinny is one of the sweetest, most calm male greyhounds I've ever fostered. He loves carrying toys from room to room and collecting them near his bed. Vinny is also a velcro dog, following me any time I leave the room. Vinny spends most of his time resting quietly on a dog bed, in whatever room I happen to be in.
Vinny rides well in the car, walks right beside me on a leash with no pulling and takes snacks so gently from my hand it makes me laugh. A typical greyhound, we is very sensitive to correction and a soft "no, no" is all it takes to redirect him.
Vinny is currently living with a cranky older male greyhound, a female whippet and a female foster greyhound. He doesn't interact much with them, but adoptable hound Hannah adores Vinny. She has overcome much of her shyness because she wants to be with him. Hannah even went for a walk for the first time since having a leg amputated last August. Vinny wasn't leaving without her.
Hannah tried to initiate play with Vinny this morning, but he doesn't quite get that concept yet. He just stood there with his toy in his mouth and stared at her like "what are you doing?!" Vinny is available on his own, but we would also be thrilled to place Vinny and Hannah together.
Because Vinny came to us with a bad ear infection in both ears, he requires ear drops every other day for the foreseeable future. He stands quietly and allows you to administer the drops and seems to enjoy the ensuing ear rub.
