My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Xena
Sex: Female
Breed: Pit Mix
Age: 2 years
Weight: 44lbs
Good with: People. Needs to be the only pet.

My name is Xena - When they took me out for the video I was so happy my tail went a mile a minute, I am sooo happy to be alive! Can you find room in your heart for a sweetie like me?

I enjoy cheese and any human food as treats. My new favorite treat is a kong-type toy filled with peanut butter, my foster mom loves them too as they keep me busy. I love car rides, playing with my toys, playing catch, hanging out in the yard (I’ve dug a few holes out there, which I guess I’m not supposed to do, but it was fun until I got caught!) After a busy day you will find me stretched out on the couch watching TV! I'm not a fan of new and loud noises or little dogs. My first foster mom had a parrot that I found very interesting, but I didn't really like him.

I enjoy sleeping in my foster mom's bed and am great at night. I know sit, stay and give paw, plus I am good at going into my crate when I'm told. I love my walks and I will patiently wait for you to put my leash on. I’m a strong girl and I tend to pull my foster along so they have signed me up for some training. It’s important that I learn to walk nicely on a leash and my trainer is going to teach me how to control my excitement when I meet new people as I have a habit of jumping up to greet them. They think a home without children would be best for me right now, I like kids but as I am a high energy girl, they don’t want me knocking over or jumping up your little ones and I’m reactive to other dogs.
