Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Manny. I am a 10-year-old male black lab and I weigh a hearty 76 pounds! I am doing great in my new foster home. The first day or two, I was a little excitable as I was trying to understand my new surroundings and companions, but now I’ve settled in, settled down, and I’m having a wonderful time.
I get along great with kids and I have been having fun hanging out with my foster mother’s 11-year-old son. My foster mom hasn’t seen me around younger kids but I think I would be as friendly and gentle with young kids as I am with everyone else. I am outgoing and personable. I love to follow my foster family around the house. I like to be in whichever room they are. I’m also great around other pets: I like to run and play with my 2-year-old foster brother, lay around the house with my 9-year-old foster brother, and I never bother my foster mother’s cat.
I have a lot of energy for my age, but I use it to play outside with other dogs or my toys, go for long walks, and follow my family around the house. I walk well on a leash and I do not bark at other dogs I meet while on walks. I do not try to run off on my own adventures, or touch anything I’m not supposed to. I enjoy a good car ride but it’s a little difficult for me to get into cars (especially high cars) because I might have arthritis. Also, I would rather watch the road in front of me than have my head out the window.
I am housebroken, and I know “sit.” I’m working on “down” and “heel” with my foster mother and I am showing great potential. I accept treats gently, I am not protective of my food, and I certainly do not counter surf!!! I am not crate trained, but I like my crate and I go in there on my own to relax and sleep. I’m just not sure I like the door closed yet.
My foster mom thinks that I would be perfect for a family with kids who would play with me and I would also love to have a doggy brother or sister. If you think you could be my forever family please call your family rep.
