My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Dunncan. And I am a chocolate, strong gentleman who weighs in at 80lbs. I have had quite a journey recently and my life has changed dramatically as I traveled from the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter to my new vacation spot in Orange County with my caring foster family. I say vacation because truly this new chapter has been amazing! When I first came to SCLRR I had infections in both of my ears and eyes. I would rub my head up against the wall because my eyes were so swollen (almost shut actually) and they itched incredibly badly. But if you look at my wide eyes today you would never know. I’m finished with my eye drops and my new view is amazing! My ears on the other hand were so bad that although much better, I am still finishing my course of ear drop therapy. It’s amazing what some drops and lots of TLC has done for me. So back to my vacationing life!

I have made several new friends on my trip including 3 young children, my dog-sister from another mister and 2 cats (who I don’t pay much attention to because hey, after all, I’m a dog person). We all get along great! We like to spend afternoons playing in “my” large yard. My favorite game is to tease you and be chased while playing keep away. I love making the kids chase me while trying to get their toys. It’s not that I’m destructive though; it’s just that I love the fun-filled attention. I am also perfectly content sunbathing and relaxing in the yard. We all need some quiet afternoons lying in the grass. And I’m just lucky enough to have a perfect balance of fun and relaxation. I adjust quickly and I am pretty easy going, rarely barking. It’s pretty simple, just love me and we will have a great relationship!

I have asked Santa to find me a new forever family for Christmas. I am looking for a family that will keep me active, take me on walks and car rides (these also make for great naps!) but mostly someone who will let me into their family and love me. I am just a big kid at heart! I don t chew toys and I am quick to get off the furniture when reminded (okay, I’m still learning how to be the best pup I can be).

Here is to hoping Santa can help make my Christmas wishes come true! Please contact your family rep to connect so we can ring in the New Year together! Cheers to 2016 and my new ventures with you!
