I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
Rocco is a very smart, extremely handsome, friendly 2 yr old neutered male, mixed breed dog. He is house trained. Loves to go for walks,( a front clip harness is recommended as he tends to pull). He also enjoys going for rides in the car. Rocco is full of energy and loves playing with his toys, and chewing marrow bones and bully sticks. He's probably a bit too much dog for young kids. He has lived with other dogs but can be picky about who he likes, so a meet and greet would be necessary if you have another dog. No cats for Rocco. Rocco will do best with an experienced guardian who will give him time to adjust to his new environment. He needs to know the rules, have structure, and receive guidance and positive reinforcement training from a calm & fair person he can respect and feel safe with. Rocco dislikes being crated and becomes very anxious when confined.
We believe that there’s a great home for every dog. We’re committed to bringing dogs and guardians together who are right for each other. We do it by knowing the dog, and knowing the prospective guardian.
We look at lifestyle, energy level, experience, tolerances. It’s communicating about expectations and commitment, not just for the next few weeks when the dog comes into their life, but for life.
We stay in touch. After the initial home visit, we’re available to offer help, support and advise. We welcome knowing how everyone is settling in. Pictures are great, an occasional email. Our job is to support the owner and dog throughout the process.
