Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jasmine was one of the largest in her litter of seven and plays the big-girl role admirably. She does not initiate power struggles but when a littermate brings it to her, she gives as good as she gets! She is more strongly food- than toy-motivated, and works hard to offer behaviors that will earn her rewards. While her litter mate dashes madly off in search of adventure, Jasmine will survey her surroundings and make an informed decision whether she wants to chase a ball, grab a tug toy, offer a behavior for food, or climb into my lap for kisses and snuggles. She has great confidence in new environments because she assesses and works through potential threats (loud noise, flashing lights, barking dogs in the next yard, vacuum cleaner, snow shovel, excited 4-year-old) before reacting. If you sat down with Jasmine and many other puppies, she would be the first to come to you offering trust and seeking affection. Her intelligence and confidence make her easy to train while her fuzzy wiggly cuteness melts your heart. Finally, her "savvy" is razor-sharp. After being rewarded ONCE for pottying outside, she now runs outside, assumes the position, then looks at me to say "where's my treat"?!? Jasmine sleeps in a kennel, enclosed by an ex-pen. Jasmine is estimated to be about 12 weeks old and weighs about 6 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday January 23, 2016, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
