Mollie's Story...
Why hello there, my name is Mollie. I am 1 ½ years old and I am a Black Lab mix. Mixed with what, I am not sure. I look like a purebred Lab but my ears are too pointy but I sure do act like a Lab where I am super friendly & loveable! I was rescued on Halloween but it wasn’t just me. It was me & my unborn pups. See, I got myself in a jam – a really BIG jam. I had a litter of puppies in my belly and I didn’t have a home. I was found as a stray and brought to a kill shelter – scary, huh? But thankfully some nice ladies came & rescued me. They not only saved me but saved my unborn puppies. I gave birth to my 8 puppies 2 days before Thanksgiving. I have been a really good Mama but now they are almost ready for adoption, ready for their forever families, it’s my turn to find my forever family and I really would like to have a family of my own. Taking care of 8 hungry puppies is a lot of work but I was a good Mama. But I am also a young gal, err dog and I like to play. In my foster home when I’m not taking care of my babies there’s other dogs here that I play with – big & small and I like playing with them. We play outside and I like to play out in the yard. But there’s one thing I’m not good at playing with. That’s the other 4-legged animal … cats. Cats and I don’t get along – I chase them. Oh and also small dogs that look like cats. But kids, oh boy do I like them too. Especially when they give me kisses and rub my belly. I’m house trained and not food aggressive. I’m just a super sweet girl that is ready to have a family take care of me for a change. Can you be my family and take care of me? Can you call my foster Mom and arrange our Meet & Greet? Oh, I wish you would so you can look into my brown eyes and fall in love with me. Then I can have my own forever home to call my own. That would be awesome! Kisses, Mollie.

Mollie is located in her foster home in Aurora. Please fill out an adoption application at: www.illinoisanimalrescue.org . Please visit our website to view our adoption process and our adoption fees. Moliie is scheduled to be spayed in two weeks - 1/18/16.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mollie, a Palatine Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
