Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET BONSAI!
This very special (and very handsome), tail-less cat is named Bonsai! City of Elderly Love rescued Bonsai from a Philadelphia shelter where he had already spent too much time. He's now living in a wonderful foster home and gets along great with his feline and canine foster siblings! Bonsai would love to find his forever home though so please, read on!
Bonsai is around 12 years old and weighs around 10 lbs. He has a stunning cow-spotted coat and what makes Bonsai even more special is that he was born with no tail! Well, he does have a little nub which just adds so much more to his charm! Bonsai ADORES his human friends and is the definition of a lap cat. He also enjoys being picked up, is a pro at finding the best spot on the bed, and is also known to hog a sun puddle on the rug every now and then! While considered a "senior" by age, he's got great energy, is in great physical shape, and nothing seems to slow him down. He's got many years of love and laughs left to provide one lucky family!
As you may have noticed, Bonsai is listed as "special needs", and while that may be true, he has no idea that there is anything 'wrong' with him! Bonsai came to the shelter with something called Stomatitis, which causes his gums to be inflamed and uncomfortable. The treatment for this is to remove the painful teeth affecting the gums, which usually works like a charm for many cats. Unfortunately, Bonsai is still experiencing inflammation and will need to remain on a low-dose of steroids for the remainder of his life to remain comfortable. Again - he feels great and will make up for his "special needs" with LOTS and LOTS of love!
Bonsai is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FIV & FeLV negative. Interested in meeting him? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
