My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LEIA is a beautiful package wrapped up with a bow! Check out those stunning green eyes! LEIA loves all people and is flawless with children. She lives with 2 year old, 4 year old, and 9 year old children in her foster home. They all adore her as much as she them. LEIA spends most of her days cuddled up on the couch with whoever wants to snuggle. She knows not to potty in the house or to chew on things that aren't hers. LEIA is great in her crate and on car rides. She enjoys walks around the neighborhood and sunning in the back yard. LEIA absolutely never runs out of affection to give her humans. Though she is very calm and well mannered, she will always play with the children in her foster home. LEIA's perfect manners make her an ideal dog to travel on family vacations or go on hikes. While most dogs do, LEIA isn't a girl who needs another dog to be happy. She is one of the few dogs who doesn't need doggie daycare even in a single dog home. Her foster family says she is a dream. She is ready to be that dream dog for her forever family!

LEIA is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her local adoption fee is $250.

All of our dogs start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
