Burt's Story...
Burt is available for adoption as a bonded, incredibly well-behaved pair with his brother, Harry. We will consider adopting them out separately but we really would love to see them stick together!! Both boys were living out on the Pajarito Mesa with their human. One of our foster/volunteers came across this "neighborhood"/colony of dogs and SWARF sponsored spay and neuter and gave food donations to this neighborhood for many dogs, for many months. After some emergency vetting was needed for Harry, SWARF obtained an owner surrender on Harry and Burt.
Burt is a 2 year old doberman/heeler x. He is very polite and very well-behaved boy!
Burt is learning how to be an indoor dog and do family dog type things like "sit", walking on a leash and snuggling. He has got the snuggling thing down to a tee!
Burt is 100% housetrained, and kennel trained! Burt has also required very little vetting as he is a stout, healthy young man! Burt is playful and loving but has an overall pretty mellow demeanor. With proper introduction, Burt does wonderfully with other dogs and cats. Burt loves ALL humans!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Burt, a Corrales Doberman Pinscher/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Corrales, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Corrales.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Corrales already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Corrales breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Corrales paves the way for another one to be saved.
