My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Fruitcaique! Can you guess what kind of parrot I am? Wait for it........................... Yes! Good guess, I am a black headed Caique, pronounced "Ki-eek" although most people call me a "cake", hence my name. I say, "call me anything but late for dinner" and boy do I mean it. I love love love to eat!!!! I am on a healthy diet of Roudybush Maintenance Pellets (small), chop, fresh fruits and veggies, birdie bread and anything else that is healthy for parrots. I am not a picky eater! I really enjoy whole almonds in the shell(you have to open the shell a little for me) and little pieces of shelled walnuts as a special treat.
I came into Rescue because my mommy was very ill and my parronts couldn't take care of me anymore. I am approximately 5 yrs old and even though everyone refers to me as a girl, it's not really official. Silly humans. *I* know what I am, even if no one else does!
I love men! Women...not so much. What can I say? My foster mommy is teaching me that I can be friends with women, too, but at this particular time, it would be best if I get adopted by a man (or men). When I see a man, I wolf whistle and call out to him for some attention. I will readily step up, bury my face into the sleeve of his shirt and make little kissy noises.
I talk too! I can say "Hi Mommy", "pretty bird", "Fruitcaique", "love you", and a bunch of other things that my foster mommy doesnt understand just yet. We have also started this new game where I touch this skinny stick-thing (target) with my beak and she gives me a treat. What a fun game! I love to get treats! She thinks I'm so cute and can be quite the sweetie when I want to be. Won't you come see for yourself? I would love to find my forever home, maybe with you?
