Amera is a beautiful German Shepherd who has not had a whole lot of experience in the world outside of her former home. She was raised in a yard without much interaction with people but has always been very gentle and sweet when she would come into the shelter. Amera has had multiple stays at the shelter and the last one resulted in her being surrendered by her owner.

Amera is highly intelligent and eager to learn. She loves to play fetch and will drop the ball right at your feet in exchange for a treat and another chance to retrieve. She has a soft mouth and takes treats so gently. In her former home she lived with other dogs, however, she can be overly corrective with some small dogs. She enjoys playing with big dogs but needs to be eased into it slowly.

Amera's ideal home would be with people who understand German Shepherd behavior and perhaps have experience with a sensitive dog. She can live with other large dogs (after a proper introduction) and could live with dog-savvy children in the right home.
