My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farfel's Rescue was notified by a compassionate rescuer in Texas that a beautiful yet so sad...and sweet as can be... Schnauzer mix was scheduled for euthanasia in just 3 days. The rescuer spoke of this 2.5 - 3 year old, 7 lb pup as a gift of pure love. His expressive eyes pleaded through the bars of the tiny enclosure where he was seeking courage from his cage-mate.

Cole was noted as a wonderful companion and lap-dog extraordinaire for retirees or a family with older kids - our rescuer was concerned that very young children would intimidate Cole since he's such a tiny guy. She also described Cole as a great friend to like-sized, respectful canines...he would enjoy the playing, walks together and hanging out at day's end.

Our rescuer heard the reports of Cole's carefully wagging tail that spoke of his desire to trust and bond for life...Farfel's happily accepted Cole into our program. He was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and brought to a nurturing Texas foster who will reinforce house skills (Cole is house trained and very respectful of the home) and socialization while he waits for his transport to a new life in Colorado.

Farfel's has committed to finding Cole a nurturing and very loving family who will enjoy him for his devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Cole becomes comfortable in his surroundings, he is a friend that will make you laugh at his antics and want to hold him tight just because he's so incredibly cute! We would also love to see Cole in a home where he becomes a true member of the family. Retirees or individuals who work out of their home would be perfect for this sweet young dog.

Cole tends to be a calm pup once bonded who loves nothing more than to settle into his person's lap and stay put with an occasional lick and a wag of delight at his good fortune. He would love walks outdoors in the sunshine and is portable enough to bring along on every dog-friendly adventure. Cole does well in the car and would be overjoyed with riding shotgun.

Cole is such a beautiful dog...his photo doesn't do him justice as well as making him look so big. Cole is a tiny guy with a gorgeous face. His coat is stunning...Cole appears to be a very lightly-shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his gorgeous coal-black coat silky and matt-free. We look forward to updating Cole's photo just as soon as we receive his post-shelter picture.

We are very interested in placing Cole with his bonded best friend Pearl (please take a look at her bio). They are truly a case of two being easier than one...they can play and entertain each other for hours but are very receptive to loving and being loved by their family. Definite priority will be give to the special people that will open their hearts to both these wonderful dogs.

Cole is being fostered in Boulder.. If interested in setting up a Meet and Greet with this cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
