Alexis's Story...
My name is Alexis! I'm a really pretty golden lab mix. When I first came to ADORE, I had severe skin issues due to neglect. It was a tough time, but I got through it and now I am healthy and have a beautiful, shiny coat. I am a laid back girl, looking for a family that can take some time to get to know me! I can be shy, but I am very sweet once I feel comfortable around you! In my foster home, I play with other dogs, kids, and have spent time around cats and horses, so I'm very well adjusted to all sorts of homes! If you want to add me to my family, please fill out an adoption application today!

Applications can be found at www.adorehouston.org!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alexis, a Houston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
