Grandpa's Story...
Sure, we call him Grandpa, but this Grandpa has still got plenty of pep in his step! We fell in love with Grandpa's distinguished silver muzzle as soon as we saw him and just had to take him to the photo room for pictures. Not only is this dog super photogenic, but he's super awesome! Grandpa LOVES to go on walks and sniff around the play yard. He is affectionate with his human pals and happy to meet new people. Grandpa is friendly, spunky and an awesome example of all senior dogs have to offer. 8 years old? Try 8 years YOUNG!

Grandpa is currently kenneled by himself, but did well with the dog he met during his shelter eval. We always encourage potential adopters to bring in their dogs from home for a meet and greet and we can help make sure everyone gets along prior to adopting.

You can meet this handsome fella at our West Valley Animal Care Center in Phx (2500 S. 27th Ave.). Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon-Fri and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat & Sun. Grandpa's $20 adoption fee includes neuter, County license and rabies vaccination.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grandpa, a Phoenix Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
