Desere, affectionately known as Dessie, is approx. 3 yrs old & 65lbs.  She loves her people & is very active...great on hikes!  She also enjoys car rides and has traveled extensively with fosters on adventures to the mountains, Mount Rushmore, etc.  Very smart, she loves to play games and trainer told us that, with her busy nose, she'd probably enjoy scent work.

Re: background....Desere was picked up as a stray & rescued from a high kill TX shelter w/shrapnel in her hip.   Loud noises (gunshots, fireworks, etc.) continue to scare her so her perfect home would be in a quiet rural area.  We do not know her history with other dogs (whether she was not well socialized as a puppy and/or had to fight for food while homeless), but Dessie is choosy about her dog friends...loves to play with some, but grouchy with others...so she would be happiest as the only dog in her home.

Desere's perfect home would include calm energy and someone/people she can trust to provide safety, structure and stability.
