My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies please email caarescue@gmail.com~

My name is Jolie; I am believed to be a Shih Tzu mixed with Chihuahua approximately 6 years old! When my family decided to move they left me at the Montreal SPCA … thankfully CAA Rescue was contacted and they came in to swoop me away to my new foster home!

In foster care I live with big dogs, little dogs, cats and people. I love them all
I have been around children but do not live with any, so far I do not show any issues when meeting children but of course all the children I have met on my walks and outings have been extremely kind and respectful of me

I will do my business outside when I am outside but at night my foster mom leaves out a pee pad for me because sometimes in the middle of the night I have to have a pee pee break but everyone is sleeping… so I don’t wake any body up. I just sneak off, pee on my pad and hustle it back to bed asap
I enjoy my walks very much; my foster mummy takes me on daily adventures exploring through the woods and I have the time of my life!

I am not overly vocal in general just normal doggie stuff like when people enter the home even if I know them I will bark but when I get my treat to distract me I calm down quickly; if you ask me I have trained my foster mama very well!

I do suffer from separation anxiety so I should not be in an apartment where other people might hear me cry for you while you are gone. When left alone for short periods of time I show no signs of destruction; I was left uncrated and there were no issues

I am officially known as the leash destroyer – my job is to rid the world of all those evil leashes; chewing through them in the back of the car while my foster mummy drives. I will rid the world of all leashes… one leash at a time. I think I am on my third leash now so if you choose to adopt me you should invest in stocks in a pet supply company as I guarantee the returns ;)
Other than my leash destroying I travel well in the car

I love to snuggle in bed with my foster mum or curled up next to my foster sis Lily! We really are like two peas in a pod

I show no signs of food or toy possession or aggression at this time in foster care
For such a little girl my foster mummy describes me as fearless but in a gentle submissive way. I am ready to go anywhere anytime with you and will adjust well to new places and people as long as you are right there with me.
I am a messy scruffy little tom boy terrier!

But I can be sneaky little bad girl too …. If you are not watching I will jump up on the table and steal the cat food! I am the Leash Destroyer and do love to chase squirrels but on the flip side I do have great recall off leash.

My foster mummy has this to say about me, “She is very, very cuddly, loves to be groomed, dressed up, she eats well, she is not obsessive eater. She absolutely loves car rides and long walks outside. She is always with me everywhere, never leaves my side but I didn’t see any signs of separation anxiety so far, she tends to follow other dogs when left alone for while. She loves to watch tv, she is just perfect little girl!”

HEALTH CARD:
We had scheduled Jolie to visit our vet once because she was limping; xrays reveal she has a dislocated shoulder. We consulted with two vets over the next few days and at this point and time it is too late to do surgery to repair the damage caused in January
So we are currently treating her with joint supplements and we have anti-inflammatory for her on days when she needs pain management. We suspect that summer months running on the grass and swimming Jolie will not have many days where she will need pain management. Winter months will be harder due to the snow and ice. The long term effects of having a dislocated shoulder is that she will in her senior years develop arthritis if not even sooner – but there is no way to know that at this point and time

If you would like to meet Jolie at her foster home in LaSalle please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Jolie we will make arrangements for you to meet her for potential adoption
A 3-Step process to adopt one of our foster dogs.
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the foster family of the dog you want to meet so you can see if s/he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
