My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gabril is a long haired dapple male, ~3 years old, and currently weighs 17 lbs. He should weigh ~13 lbs once he's healthy. He's brand spanking new to DREAM and will be getting his dental done in about 3 weeks. Until then, we'll study up on Gabril's personality and let you know all about him as soon as we can. So far he's shown us that's he's fairly mellow & happy. He's eager to please and ready to receive tons of TLC. He is crate trained, leash trained, & house trained. (That's a doxie trifecta right there!!!) Gabril wants to interact with his people as often as possible. He will go outside to do business, but not by himself. He wants to be with people too much - so you'll have to stand there with him. However he does business quickly b/c he's always ready to be back inside.

If you are interested in adopting Gabril, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to title="Adoption Application" href="http://dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml" target="_blank"> dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Gabril 's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Gabril will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
