Sydney's Story...
Well, I am not as quick as I used to be, but I still got plenty of get-up-and-go! I don’t say I’m slowing down, I just brake a little more before the turns! My hips just aren’t what they used to be, but I still got a race to win! First prize is your heart, and no one is going to take you away from me! It’s a mad dash for love, and I have all the winning features of a first-place dog! I get along great with other dogs, I get along great with cats, and I am doing great with my crate training! I am oh so friendly and people focused, pretty happy-go-lucky until you start messing with my food bowl; that’s when things get serious. So I do need a family without children, where all members are able to understand that I will not share. Now don’t get caught with your shifter in the wrong gear, get down here and meet me in the winner’s circle! 8 years old- 86lbs. My adoption fee is $120 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sydney, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
