Patton's Story...
How sweet is this little guy! Patton and his siblings were born at the shelter on Veteran's Day. A good Samaritan rescued his mother from a rough neighborhood when he found her wandering hopelessly. She was a pregnant stray and an area resident was threatening to shoot her. Very thankfully, she was brought us and gave birth to a beautiful litter of babies just a couple weeks later. These puppies could be a Shepherd mix, but what we know for sure is that they are a beautiful mix of something, and they are absolutely adorable. They would be perfect in any loving home. These pups are very loving, playful as you would expect any puppies to be and have wonderful little personalities. Come meet them at the shelter.

If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit www.carams.org for information on our Adoption Process and to fill out an online adoption application.

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patton, a Jackson Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
