Rachel and her sister, Jessie, are like two peas in a pod and would make a great pair of cats for anyone with room for two! These active three-year-olds love to play with toys and can often be seen bounding around the Kitty Bunkhouse after each other or one of the many other cats they currently live with. They are full of spunk and attitude, and we suspect they’ll be “kittens” for life! They are just mischievous enough to keep themselves – and you – entertained without getting into too much trouble. (Usually...) They aren’t quite sure how they feel about dogs yet, so any introductions would have to be done safely and slowly. We don’t require that these girls go home together, but they do a great job of keeping each other occupied, so we highly recommend it!

Kindness Ranch provides sanctuary and a place of rehabilitation for animals previously used in laboratory research. All of the animals available for adoption at Kindness Ranch are up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Visitations and adoptions are done by appointment only.

About Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary

About Our Shelter...

The mission of the Kindness Ranch is to provide a sanctuary and place of rehabilitation for animals who have been used in laboratory research.

Staff at Kindness Ranch work to rehabilitate our dogs and cats in a home-like environment. Cats and dogs at the ranch live together with their human caretakers in spacious yurts specially designed to meet their needs. They receive round-the-clock care to help them adjust to their new lives.

The Kindness Ranch also provides foster and adoption programs for all the animals we can rehabilitate. Those who are too debilitated, old or ill to be placed in a loving home can remain on the ranch to live out their days, surrounded by caretakers and volunteers who put the animals’ well-being first.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Potential adopters are welcome to visit Kindness Ranch and meet the animals by appointment. Some animals are also able to visited in or near their foster homes. We sometimes hold adoption events in Cheyenne, WY and Casper, WY.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application to be filled out and may request a home visit if deemed necessary. Potential adopters are counseled on the special needs that many lab animals have and will work with a staff member to find a good match for their home. The adoption fee is $50 for cats and $150 for dogs. All adopters sign an adoption contract, as well, and are encouraged to keep in touch with pictures and stories!
