My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Jerry! I am a very soft and gentle beagle mix. Not too much is known about my life before I found myself in a rural animal shelter and MW Brew stepped in and rescued me. I had a pretty bad sinus and lung infection when I arrived in my foster home. I have finished all my medication and the vet has given me a clean bill of health. My nose was stuffy for so long, I now have this habit of breathing through my mouth sometimes. The doctor says I am healthy and this should continue to improve over time but I do sound kind of funny when I do this, especially when I get excited
I am medium energy and really just want to be doing whatever it is everyone else is doing. I like to be where the action is and if there is someone on the move I will probably follow along to see what they are up to. When the humans settle in, so do I. I like to snuggle and love attention but sometimes I like to have my own space too and will snuggle on a doggie bed close by.
I am your typical hound dog and will follow my nose everywhere. I would be fine with or without a fenced yard as long as I were always on a leash or tie out without a fence. What I really like is a daily walk and prefer to potty on leash too! I do like to Arrooo hello with my deep hound voice to other dogs I see around the neighborhood. I love to go for rides in the car but it can be a bit hard to convince me to sit in the back! I would rather ride shotgun!
I am crate trained and I have been working on my manners and learning things like 'sit' since arriving in my foster home. I will need to keep practicing. I get super excited when I see my food dish. Foster mom says I have to sit and wait nicely but I just can't help but let out a few leaps of joy and a few big Arrooo's too! Dinner time is my favorite! I have no food aggression but I will try to eat the other beagles’ food so they prefer I eat in a different room.
I do not like to be alone and would like a furever family where there is another dog or where someone is home most of the time. I have a lot of fun with the other beagles in my foster home! There are no cats or small children here but there is a puppy. Even though she has way more energy than me and can be a bit of a pest, I do not mind her antics to play. I wish she would leave me alone when I'm trying to sleep but we have a great time together so it's all good.
Talk to my foster mom today if you think I'm the boy for you or if you would like to know more about me!
