What can we say about Tommy!? He's 2yrs old and weighs about 12 lbs.

This little guy looked so sad in his shelter photo that we just knew we had to pull him. He had some stress/behavior issues in the shelter but is really overcoming them nicely.

When we first got him he was a runner - any chance he got he took off. But by continually keeping out calm and following from afar, we were able to gain his trust so that now if he has the opportunity to run, he doesn't. He waits for us to tell him it's time to go, and if he goes the wrong direction, he is quick to come back!

Tommy has become quite a little lover and really wants to trust people. He gets along great with the other dogs, too!

About The Rescued Pup

About Our Rescue Group...

The Rescued Pup is an all breed, all size, all age rescue. All of our dogs come from high-intake / low funded shelters, or other situations where they are at risk of being euthanized.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets stay in homes with their foster families and are located mainly in San Diego County, CA. An application is required to visit our pets.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is broken down into 4 steps.

Step 1 begins with filling out an application.

Step 2 is a meet and greet with your family members/roommates and existing dogs. (Puppies under 4 months of age will not meet existing dogs)

Step 3 is a home visit. Where we verify the following:
~Where will the dog sleep
~Where will the dog be kept when no one is home
~Where will the dog play

Step 4 is the final step and is when you sign the contract and pay the adoption fee.
