Chaz's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Chaz's Story...
I am Chaz; a 34 lb., male lab/boxer mix; approx. 2-years old.  I was found as a stray with no place to go.  Then a rescue group saved me. I am now in a foster home.  I am crate-trained and know basic commands such as sit.
I love to play with other dogs and am a loyal pup to my foster family.  I enjoy being around people and playing with them but I get a little nervous in public when my foster folks are out of sight.
When I'm not playing with my best doggie friend, Roxie, I am one little love-bug and will fall asleep on your lap.  Although I haven't been around many children, I have been known to lick them.
I am perfectly happy staying near the house when outside, but will run off once-in-awhile to chase a deer. After all my playing and exercise, I like to rest in the comfort of my bed.
I get along with the other dogs I have met, but will become angry with my foster brother when we both want the human's attention.  I think every cat I have ever met are pretty scary so I try not to be near them.
Won't you come and play with me?  If you would like to play, contact Denise at the Floyd County Humane Society 540-745-7207 or email floydhumane@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chaz, a Floyd Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in Floyd, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog from a breeder in Floyd.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Floyd already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Floyd breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Floyd paves the way for another one to be saved.
