found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
Hi, thanks for stopping by!! My name is Ricky (sometimes my friends refer to me as "Bubba"), I am about 3 yrs old and currently weigh 63 lbs. I am in need of adding about 10ish more lbs to my skinny frame and I gotta tell ya,,,,,that's been quite the enjoyable endeavor!! I was found by the dog pound on a back country road,,,,starving, emaciated, ear/skin infections and with tons of fur missing. The pound contacted this great rescue and had them come and get me where I was immediately taken to the vet. From there I was put on a TON of medication and given 2-3 medicated baths a week for the last month and I am finally feeling (and according to everyone, am LOOKING) so much better now!! I LOVE my foster home!! They take me on "outings", let me ride in the car and I even have my very own doggie bed on the floor next to their bed!! I feel very, very spoiled. I get along great with humans of ANY AGE/SIZE OR GENDER. As a matter of fact I'm even good with goats!! Yup, my foster Mom and Dad have some goats and I have no issues with them either. Let's talk about other dogs. I have not problems with hanging out at the dog parks playing with other canines, going to visit other dogs at their homes, even heading into the local petstores for some occasional "butt sniffin" activity is fine with me. But, it has just recently been determined that I would rather not co-habitate with them. You see, since I was so severaly malnourished I am not a fan of sharing my food with other dogs (humans are fine though!!). Just to clarify, I am great with other dogs when it comes to playtime but want my own space when I am in my own home. So, how ever many 2 legged humans there are I'm great but living in the same house with other dogs would not be my preference. Cats you ask?? Wellllll, those furry lil felines would not be the best option when it comes to the co-habitation department! lol Let's just say that I am not as friendly with them as I am with other dogs and humans. I LOVE being with my humans but also do fine when they leave the house, guess you could say that I enjoy my own quiet time. I have just now started to learn how to play with toys and am very gentle with them. We are working on ball fetch/return. I could use some basic leash training but have been known to do fine off-leash as long as my humans are there with me. I have no aggression at all, I like to run and play but then I am all about chillin with my foster Mom while she works on her computer or watches TV. Oh yea, I am also crate trained!! When it comes to my potty habits I do really good. But keep in mind that once I go to my new home it will take time for me to learn a new schedule and where I go outside, so you will have to be consistent and patient with me while we learn about each other. If you are looking for a cuddly (but not obnoxiously cuddly), playful (but not overly rambunctious), loving and gentle guy then you best take a minute to fill out that application!! Because I have so much good goin on that I will be in "high demand"!!! love, ricky xoxoxo
