Elton's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This gorgeous little dog is Elton.  His owner passed away and he did not have anyone to take care of him so he was taken to the shelter.  The shelter thought he would do better in a rescue and now here he is!  Elton desperately needed a good groom and our friends at Bow Wow & Meow helped us out.  So he is now ready for his new life and home!

Elton is pretty laid back but still playful with the other dogs here that want to wrestle with him.  He enjoys walks and is very good in the car.  Elton is crate trained and does not mind being in one.  We noticed that he goes to his during the day and hangs out.  He is friendly and likes other small dogs!   He does bark a bit at the cats too.

Elton is 4 years old and 12 pounds.  He is neutered, up to date on shots, Heart Worm tested Neg, dewormed and microchipped!  Please remember that he will need regular grooming every 4-6 weeks to keep his cute look up!
Elton's adoption fee is $250

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elton, a Buffalo Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Buffalo, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
