Hello everyone!

My name is Thor. I am black w/white chest male Great Dane. I am
3 1/2yrs old and weighs 137 lbs.

I’m not sure why, but I do have a little bit of an anxiety. My foster mom says I don't really tear anything up. But I have a tendency to cry. If I'm in a kennel, I rub my nose on things and cut it up pretty bad. If I’m being left alone in a room, I’d be fine for a little while. Then, I’d start to cry and will jump on the door, needing human attention. If I have some some yummy treats that will keep me busy (i.e. antler, kong with peanut butter, etc.), it really helps to keep me occupied.

My foster mom says that I am a good boy when left alone in the house. But make sure that there’s no food on the counters, because who doesn't like to sneak food off of them sometimes?

I love people of all ages! When it comes to children, I try to contain my excitement but sometimes I just get so happy I’d accidentally knock them down because I so want to hug them!

I do have a bad habit of jumping on adults but if they put their hand up and tell me "no jump" I will listen and not jump on them. My foster mom and I are working on that, so I learn to not jump on people at all.

Sometimes with my anxiety, I get nervous when a new person comes around me. It doesn't happen all time and it’s usually when I’m in a strange area, newer place or there's just lots of activities going on. I will make my nervous-sounding, non-aggressive growl at a stranger for a minute. Once the stranger talks to me and pets me, I start to feel comfortable. After that, that stranger becomes my best buddy!

I love other dogs of all sizes. I do like to play a little rough and I love a good game of tug o' war with a doggy friend.

I'm not sure how I like cats as my foster family doesn't have any cats.

My mom says we really need to work on how I should greet people when they knock on the door. I alert my foster momma when I get excited and bark. I so badly want to get out the door to see who it is, say hello to them and make them my friends! But my foster mom says that not everyone realizes that I just want to say “hi” and I kind of scare them because I’m so big. We are working on how to sit and stay at the door. Its a work in progress because I'm stubborn and don’t want to miss the opportunity to meet someone. But with some training, I will learn how to do it.

I like to drink out of the bathroom faucet when its turned on. If my foster dad forgets to close the lid, I also like to drink out of the toilet bowl. I don’t know why humans think it’s yucky, but hey I'm a dog, I can't help it!

I am fully house trained but I don't usually bark when I need to go potty. I will run from the door to find my foster mom or dad, then I run back to the door. Rinse and repeat until my foster mom or dad lets me out. When it’s cold out, I run out and do my business right away and runs right back into the house ——- no lollygagging around.
