Facts about Owen

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Owen is a great fun guy, but pretty laid-back, crawling up to sleep upside down in your lap. Owen likes the fur mouse toys and laser pointer to chase. Owen has grown to be a big guy!! But bigger is better when it comes to cats - he's one big bunch of love. Have windows? Then Owen's the cat for you; he spends hours in the window looking out at the birds, the mailman, and life as it goes by. What a great companion too when you come home. For more information on them contact the foster at 202-341-9089. They will attend some of our adoption events, but call first to make sure they will be there. We have weekly events Sundays at Howl To The Chief!, 733 8th St SE, Washington DC 20003, from noon to 3 pm.

About Capital Cats

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of private households who rescue and find homes for cats and kittens abandoned at several shelters, most of which have the high kill rate typical of large metropolitan areas. We also do street rescue of placeable cats and kittens and cooperate with local feral rescuers as time and space permit. We do it to save lives.

Our Adoption Process...

Prospective adopters fill in an application form at the adoption event. We do landlord and veterinary reference checks before proceeding to the next stage, which involves a home visit where the cat or kitten will be living. The cat or kitten is spayed or neutered before placement; cost is included in the adoption fee (currently $80). The contract requires that the cat or kitten be indoors-only and that it cannot be declawed. In addition, we do not place single kittens unless the household has another cat or kitten who needs a friend; otherwise it has to be two kittens together.
