My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stitch is a snuggly, sweet, adorable, loving, dog and people-friendly, seven-pound, five-year-old, male fawn and white, one-eyed, Min Pin/Chihuahua-mix looking for a loving guardian.

He is a sweet and lovable little guy who is full of kisses and tail wags. He dances on his hind legs for treats and is housebroken and well-behaved in the home. In fact, his foster mom doesn’t feel the need to crate him at all and says he’s fine when left home alone.

He co-mingles just fine with other dogs in his foster home. Stitch knows the commands “sit,” “let’s eat," “outside” and his name.

He walks nicely on leash and loves daily walks! He enjoys being in your arms, cuddled and kissed. He is wonderful with people – however, he does get frightened if you startle him - since he only has one eye. He is also protective of those he loves, and resource guards select toys and food; positive reinforcement training would benefit him greatly to help him succeed in his new home. For that reason, he is recommended for homes without small children.

He is currently fostered in Rogers Park where he lives with two other Chihuahua mixes. Stitch usually sleeps in bed with his foster mom, but sometimes opts for the couch.

Stitch is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting him, please contact his foster mom Stephanie at stephanie.gradle@gmail.com or 217-273-7238.

His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido’s.
