My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Hi there, Tigger here! Once upon a time I went looking for my family in the hundred-acre-wood. I wandered for miles and miles and got lost. It was dark and dense and cold. I got hungry and there was no food. Then one blustery day I was found bouncing through a grassy park, still looking for my family. They took me to a county shelter with lots of other lost dogs. I counted the days there until someone saw my hopeful, handsome face and came to set me free.

Woo hoo hoo hoo! What a lucky dog I am! Now I sleep in a warm bed in my Foster home, play with other happy dogs and chew on tasty nylabones. I found a honey pot of yummy food here too, and have filled out nicely. In my Foster home I've had structure, socialization with 6 other house dogs, lots of hugs and love and some special training to be the best dog I can be.

I'm eager to watch and learn basic commands. I will Sit, go Down, Stay and Walk easily on a leash by your side. In the yard, I love to play fetch and chase. I spend many daytime hours hanging with my Fosters in their offices, then crate up easily when they go out. At bedtime I sleep quietly all night in a soft cushy dog bed near my Fosters. I love my bed, and am so happy to be safe and warm there."

From My Fosters:

Tigger is a great dog who is happiest being with his "people". He's a medium size 40 lb Black Mouth Cur Mix dog with a full black mask, adorable furrowed brow and dark brown eyes, born about September 2014. He's a friendly, moderate energy dog. Outdoors he's playful and social running with a few of our other dogs. Indoors he's just as happy to be curled up by your feet, calmly chewing on a dog toy. Tigger is fully housebroken, and will give a few barks at the door to let you know he needs to go out. He takes treats with the softest mouth, and loves to perform for special treats. He's not crazy about the rain and cold, and usually gets right down to business so he can come back in. A yard with a fence would be ideal for him to keep him safe.

Tigger would do best in a home with a Female medium-size dog, or as an only dog. He should not be in a home with cats. He interacts fine with our 8 and 11 year old grandchildren, he's very playful with them. Tigger is not a dog to be crated and left alone for long periods of time, he would do best with someone who works from home or goes in and out during the day.
