Calliope (Courtesy Listing)'s Story...
Sweet Calliope is FIV+/FeLV+ and it is due to her FeLV status that she cannot be allowed to leave my bathroom and live along side my other felines. She is not able to contract her FIV/FeLV to humans or any other species of pet- she is only contagious to other felines. For this reason, she needs a home without other kitties or one with another FeLV positive cat.
Calliope is a very sweet, affectionate girl who LOOOOOOVES people. She very much deserves a home where she can get the love and attention she needs, and not just a few hours here and there when her human (me) has the time. At present I sleep with her on the bathroom floor every other night to keep her company and feeling loved. And although this cuddle bug snuggles on top of the pillows and buries her face and paws into my neck the whole night through, she still needs a whole lot more than that. She needs tv time and lap with her human, belly rub sessions whenever she desires them, room to run around and play (she is only a year old, after all!), and cuddle time- every day.
I am not sure how long Calliope will live because of her immunity disorder, but right now she is a very happy, chirpy girl with lots of energy and an immense amount of love to give. She does have some sort of chronic sinus congestion issue I had hoped would clear up when I had most of her teeth removed from stomatitis, but alas, not all of it has and she still has a bit of the Darth Vader thing going on. Despite this, she doesn't seem the least bit bothered, eats her dry food like a champ, grooms her bunny-soft fur pretty everyday, and chases her string on a stick whenever I swing it around for her. In addition, she requires no medication.
If you are a wonderful human and you would like to love and care for my girl while she is in good health, please send me an inquiry (I will happily any questions you may have). If you are interested in fostering my girl, I will continue to pay for ALL of her expenses (food, litter, vetting, etc.), will visit on a regular basis to be sure she is well (and take her to the vet if/when necessary), and make sure that she wants for absolutely nothing. I will also consider adopters if that is desired and Calliope and the interested adopter are a good match up.Thanks so very much!
