Piglet's Story...
Um, hi. Do you have snacks? Oh, excuse me. My name's Piglet and I am a hungry little 10-week old shi tzu mix. No side eye--I'm a growing boy! I love to play with my toys, especially the squeaky ones, and am very eager to learn (treats!!). My foster mom says I'm already working on the sit command. She says I'm doing well with potty training as well. I like cats, dogs, and kids who are old enough to respect my tiny frame. I would really like to try a puppy class! I'll be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered when I'm old enough. My adoption fee is $300. Please E-mail rescueofhope@gmail.com for an application for Piglet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piglet, a Grand Rapids Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
