  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Champagne is a spirited, lively fellow who can't wait to be a part of your family! He arrived at PAWS Chicago from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He has gorgeous golden fur and he is a perfect size at only 15 pounds. He may be a small package, but he definitely has big personality! Fun and playful, Champagne loves to spend time with people and is always up for some fun.

Champagne is a great guest in the home. He is crate trained and once he gets settled in, he is house trained as well. He spent some time in foster and they said he was a "sweet, affectionate dog" and that he loves playing with chew toys and tennis balls.

A very clever boy, Champagne has an affinity for learning and excels in obedience classes here at PAWS Chicago. He is still learning leash manners, but has been doing very well. He enjoys being with just people, so a home without other animals and where he doesn't have to see them often would be best suited for him.

About PAWS Chicago

About Our Shelter...

PAWS Chicago is the city's largest No Kill humane organization, focused on solutions to end the killing of homeless pets. Since our founding in 1997, homeless dogs and cats killed annually in the City of Chicago has dropped more than 50 percent. Our Adoption Process...

To adopt a cat or dog from PAWS Chicago:

- Bring along all family members (including children) to meet the cat/dog(s).
- Be able to take the cat/dog home on the day of adoption.
- Have the time to spend up to an hour with an adoption counselor to discuss the responsibility of owning a cat/dog and making it a lifetime commitment.

Adoption Fee:

- $100.00 for kittens
- $100.00 for cats up to 2 years of age

When you provide proof that your PAWS dog has completed a course, we will reimburse you the $75.00 deposit you submitted at the time of adoption.

Adoption Fee Includes:

- Spay/neuter surgery
- All age-appropriate vaccinations
- Microchip
- Lifetime guarantee if something happens to you or you can no longer care for your pet
- Support throughout the pets lifetime

Foster-to-Adopt Period:

The first 14 days following every adoption is considered the Foster-to-Adopt period. Foster-to-Adopt is a great way to see if a dog is a good fit for the adopter’s lifestyle. It is also a great way to see how the animal behaves in a home environment. During the 14-day Foster-To-Adopt period, if the adopter decides the adopted animal is not the right match, the adoption fee is reimbursed when the animal and their medical records are returned to PAWS Chicago.
