Benjii is looking for an experienced owner and soul mate who will take the time to appreciate his quirks. Benjii would thrive in a home where he is the center of attention but not left to run the show. He is a smart little guy who is set in his ways and requires patience as he thinks he is the boss. Long walks and snuggling near his person are his ideal home. He likes to talk and tell you when he is hungry or wants something. Benjii is a healthy 6 year old shih tzu, but he is developing cataract in one eye and is blind in the other. Due to Benji's anxiety and difficulty with change, we have chosen not to operate on his eye. Thankfully, his cataract does not slow him down! Benji does, however, require routine. He does not like to be apart from his person and has some anxiety issues when left alone. While he is not destructive, but it does mean condo or apartment living is not for him. He is well socialized and great with other animals including cats. He is fine with visiting kids but prefers that he is supervised as like most older dogs he does need to be given space. He would prefer to not have to live with young children full time. Car rides are a treat and he is happy to go as a co pilot on long or short trips.He is a healthy 11lbs and is at his ideal weight for his size.
