Meet Roxy! This sweet pup was found with her brother wandering around in a yard in Georgia with no mama in sight.  They were nothing but skin and bones.  Since then, both pups have made an amazing turnaround.  Roxy remains extremely shy and really needs another confident canine sibling to show her the ropes, so she can understand that the world is not such a bad place where humans can be trusted.  She loves to cuddle and give kisses. Roxy listens very well- I never have to repeat any commands. Roxy is a very intelligent, loving, and sweet pup.

Foster update: Roxy gets along great with Piper (foster sibling) but does not like cats (absolutely not). We haven't run into any escape issues :) Rox is crate trained and fully house broken- not one accident! She is low energy inside the house but loves to run around in the back yard like a crazy woman- and boy she is fast!

Before adopting a puppy, please assess the amount of time you have to provide your puppy with proper house-training, crate-training, obedience training, love, socialization and, frequent potty breaks. K-9 Lifesavers recommends all new adopters enroll their new puppy into group obedience to ensure the puppy is well socialized and properly trained.

Foster Program:  Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit or email our Foster Coordinator at

About K-9 Lifesavers

About Our Rescue Group...

K-9 Lifesavers is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that rescues homeless and abandoned dogs. We save canines that are scheduled for euthanasia from high kill shelters, where there are typically held only for 3-7 days. K-9 Lifesavers also strives to educate the importance of responsible dog ownership, including spay/neuter, training, and pet nutrition.

K-9 Lifesavers relies primarily upon our dedicated foster families since we do not operate a shelter. These homes provide loving, temporary care until our rescues find their forever homes. We are always looking for foster families.

Please visit our website at for additional information about K-9 Lifesavers. The website lists our available dogs, volunteer opportunities, foster information, and various ways to donate.

Please help us rescue more canines waiting for their second chance at life with a forever home! Adopt a rescue, foster, volunteer, or donate!

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process is almost always completed within one week of time you submitted your questionnaire (times can vary depending on your location, the dog’s location, and availability).

· Fill out an adoption questionnaire, found at (please note, completion of the Adoption Questionnaire does not guarantee adoption- it is the first step in our adoption process).

· An adoption counselor will call you to review your application.

· The adoption counselor will call your reference, landlord/condo association, and veterinarian (if applicable).

· The entire household should be willing and present for a home visit.

· The adoption counselor will schedule a time for you, your family, and any other pets to meet the dog(s) you've applied for.

Once approved, you will need to finalize your adoption by completing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee in cash or check. At that time, available medical records will be provided along with a variety of other information.

· Young Adult Dog (7 months to 8 years) - $300

· Puppy (6 months and younger) - $350

· Heartworm Positive Dog - $375 (This fee includes treatment for heartworm)

· Golden Year Dogs (8 years and older) - $200

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and our transport costs. Please note that puppies 6 months and younger must be spayed/neuter at the adopter's expense.
