Callie (previously known as 'Mancha') is an 11-year-old, 10-pound Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. She is a little lover and is incredibly easy to handle. Her foster mom describes her as a 'funny, sweet, playful little monkey.' She most adores snuggling in a dog bed or under a blanket and darts around like a much younger dog. She is still fun and lively, don't let her age fool you!
Sweet Callie has a mild heart murmur that doesn't require any treatment. She came to us with a non-functional left eye, which had to be removed. She's good with other dogs of all sizes and would fit in easily to a low- to mid-activity level home. She rides nicely in the car. She walks surprisingly fast on the leash and finds comfort in having a loving person around.
Callie walks with a pronounced arch of her lower back. She has been seen by an orthopedic surgeon, and he said she has a chronic intervertebral protrusion. It is not causing her overt pain. She is going to physical therapy (laser and swim therapy) and it definitely helps her feel more spunky. She also takes joint supplements and an anti-inflammatory for pain control.
Callie was part of a family before ending up at the shelter. She was brought in as a stray but her previous guardian was unable to pay the necessary fees to get her back and surrendered her instead.
