My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Louie was surrendered at the Midwest Animal Shelter with his littermates. All of his brothers and sisters found homes, but no one wanted poor little Louie. He was a tiny little bag of bones and quite sickly looking, but he was still very happy to meet new people and animals. We took him because his time was up and he was going to be euthanized. Louie first went into a foster home that had an outbreak of kennel cough and ,of course, poor little Louie was exposed and came down with it. All of my other foster puppies recovered fairly quickly, but Louie just got sicker and sicker. He had a weaker immune system due to poor nutrition and lack of medical care prior to rescue. Louie had to be hospitalized for over a week with IV fluids and strong antibiotics. It was touch and go for a while.

Louie finally made it back to our home and slowly recovered. He is now healthy, happy and ready for a home of his own. He is a little shy with new people, but loves everyone. He is great with other animals. He enjoys running and playing with his foster siblings in the back yard. Then he is happy to nap on the couch or in one of the dog beds. He is crate-trained and does well in the house as long as you let him out to potty every few hours.

Louie is about 40 pounds and is full grown. He is not quite one year old and appears to have terrier and Labrador in his genetic makeup. He is a gentle soul who craves loving arms to snuggle him up and cherish him as he deserves. He is great with people of all ages.

Louies is fully vetted and micro-chipped. If you would like to meet him, please call Shawna @ (405)496-0838.
