My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Aurora is currently being fostered in HOUSTON. She is available for out-of-state adoption as well to the perfect family. Her adoption fee is $350, which covers her flight to her new family, a travel kennel, and she is fully vetted.**

These sweet girls are around 8 months old and just 6 pounds each. They are Toy Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mixes and the cutest girls ever! We met Aurora and Sophia at the local city pound and they were in terrible condition. They had mange, a non-contagious skin condition, so badly that they were just tiny bodies without any hair. We could see their beauty despite that and knew with some care they would be perfect in a very short time.

Aurora gets along well with other dogs, but she is so small that we must match her with furry siblings and humans that will be careful around them. This is also important for any children in the family to be older kids that are gentle and understand these girls are a little more fragile than larger dogs.

Aurora is very affectionate and enjoys being held but also loves having her belly rubbed. She will sit in a funny sideways position adjusting her hind leg so you can rub her belly. When she is picked up, we are extra careful because she wiggles quite a bit and can jump out of your arms if you aren’t prepared. Aurora loves to play with other dogs, she would be great as an addition to a family that already has dogs or as a only dog.

Due to their previous skin condition, we would advocate that Aurora be kept on a Bravecto (oral flea medication) every three months, it is an oral medication that can be purchased either through the vet or online. This is to ensure that her skin remains healthy lifelong. Aurora is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

Aurora is doing really well with her kennel and house training, but is still learning her leash manners. We hope that her new family will be patient as she continues to learn and develop into an amazing family member.

Aurora is the most precious little girl who will bring more joy to a new family than one could imagine! She is living with her foster family in Houston, Texas and both Sophia & Aurora are available for a loving family now.
