Facts about Scruffy

  • Breed: Cattle Dog/Boston Terrier Mix
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: FLPS #117
At 8 years old, Scruffy, found himself homeless and at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control when his owners moved and didn't include him in their plans.

Scruffy is a 20 lbs. cattle dog/boston terrier mix that didn't deserve to be left behind. He is good with other dogs and does well with children as well. Scruffy is a super friendly boy that knows a couple of basic commands and loves to curl up on a lap. He's a people dog and a quicker learner at that. Scruffy adapts easily to most any environment and doesn't bark much, but makes a cute little grunting noise when you scratch his belly in just the right spot. His foster family reports that he is dog door trained and has integrated easily with her pack as well.

Let us know if you have room in your heart and home for Scruffy.

About Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is one of only two senior animal rescues in Maricopa County, Arizona. Formed in 2012 as a non-profit 501[c][3] organization, the focus of FLPS is to promote the rescue, adoption, and well-being of senior animals. FLPS also provides public education regarding the value of adopting a senior pet. FLPS serves a public need by offering housing to a limited number of senior pets.

This safe haven, will take the burden of temporary care and housing of senior animals off of local shelters. Inevitably, local shelters resort to euthanizing these abandoned, senior animals at an alarming rate. According to a 2012 statistics report, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) euthanizes one animal every eight minutes it is open to the public. Euthanasia for senior residents is the primary option for most local shelters because they tend to focus their efforts on a high adoption model that includes younger “more adoptable” animals. FLPS will work with local shelters and rescues to identify the senior animals in need and provide a streamlined process for interested men, women and families who wish to adopt.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is involved with events hosted by PACC911 (Phoenix Animal Care Coalition) and is currently in talks with a local Pet Food retail store to host a monthly adoption event.

Our Adoption Process...

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) asks for an adoption donation beginning at $150 [depending on age and breed] for each of our fabulous senior dogs and cats. We require that an adoption application be completed as well as a home check.
