Maxine's Story...
This is Maxine. We found her a couple weeks ago starved and very much wanting to be rescued. We saw her down the road and when I called her she came running. She is putting on some weight now and will be spayed soon and up for adoption. She is about 10 months old (Jan 2016) and heartworm negative-thank goodness! Other than being very skinny she was in good health. She loves all the other dogs at her foster house and gets along with all of them, large and small. If you are interested please fill out an application on our website at forgottendogs.org/adoption_application or email her foster mom at kellek-9@peoplepc.com and mention Maxine!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxine, a Houston Husky/Siberian Husky puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Siberian Husky for sale in Houston, or seeking a Husky/Siberian Husky puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Siberian Husky breeders who help with Husky/Siberian Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
