Butternut's Story...
Butternut is still looking for her forever home. This girl couldn't be cuter: just look at that face and those stubby legs. Butternut does well in the house (as long as you hide your slippers) and is crate trained. She gets along great with other dogs and is social but a bit shy with new people. Butternut was born September 16, 2015 and weighs a chunky 20 lbs

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Butternut, a Portland Corgi/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Australian Shepherd for sale in Portland, or seeking a Corgi/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Corgi/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
