My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Play hard, crash hard…isn’t that what puppies are all about? This is the motto that I live by every day. I am a bundle of energy and ready to play, but I love to cuddle and sleep as well. I am shy compared to my brother, Tavis. I am a little more cautious and do not stray far from my foster mom. Don’t let my shyness fool you, I love to play with my brother, Tavis, and usually am the instigator of puppy wrestling matches! I love to chew on bones and have a great attention span to sit in one spot contently on a soft blanket with a good bone. My foster mom can even leave the room for a couple minutes and I will be in the same spot, happily chewing.

Shadows and new shapes outside at night scare me, so I like to stay close for the late night and early morning outings. And best of all, I am crate trained for up to 9 hours at night and am doing great with potty training!

My foster mom has been leash walking me 4-5 walks per day and I am a great little companion on short walks. I get tired easily, so 15-20 min is great walk for me. I have met several dogs in my neighborhood and am learning to not be scared of them. I am a little guy, so large dogs frighten me and I hide behind my foster mom. Don't worry, she is confident that with more introductions, I will love other dogs as much as I love my brother. My foster family has a guinea pig and I am very gentle and loving with her. I also am not really interested in chasing birds or other creatures I may see outside.

Guess what else is super cool? My foster family takes my brother and I EVERYWHERE and I am very social. I love to ride in the car and have sat quietly through CrossFit, ballet, and tumbling classes. I love to wait at the bus stop for my little human friends to come home from school and sometimes I wait outside the school doors and play with ALL the children. I get a weekly bath so I will not be scared of bath time when I am older, I think the warm water is nice and I enjoy it when my human friends dry me with towels. I am learning new things everyday and will sit on command for a yummy treat. My foster mom says I am the perfect family dog and I would have to say that I agree with her.

Tennison is a male terrier mix born November 06, 2015. It is estimated he will weigh 25 pounds when full grown.

AS WITH ALL YOUNG PUPS, this puppy will need constant supervision when not crated. Puppies will chew and get into trouble as any puppy would. A puppy needs a leader and someone to teach the basics of house training, obedience, and behavior. At the ages of 10-16 weeks, puppies tend to tire easily and take lots of naps. As they get older, they will need more exercise (walks, hikes, playing fetch, etc) to expend their energy and to be happy and healthy.

Don't get us wrong, we love puppies! However, we also want those interested in adopting a wee canine to make a thoughtful decision, be realistic in behavior expectations, and be prepared to provide proper and kind leadership.

For additional information, please email info@youluckydogrescue.org. Our adoption fee is $250 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions.
