Gypsy's Story...
Four years ago, Gypsy was abandoned and left to fend for herself outside a local motel. She searched for the family that abandoned her, hoping they might come back to find her. But they never did. For the next three years, Gypsy would live outside, foraging for food, giving birth to many litters of kittens, and never knowing the security or love that comes from being in a forever home. All that changed when an extended stay guest called CARE to get help for her. She was so happy to be rescued and taken care of. She loves attention and can't seem to get enough. She plays like a kitten and rolls over when she sees you because she is so happy.

Gyspy has been searching for her perfect family for one year now. She might not be a cute kitten anymore. She might be an ordinary black cat, not an exotic Maine Coon or a blue-eyed Siamese. But we believe that even though her appearance may be ordinary, her personality is anything but ordinary. We believe she is worthy of a forever home. Please give this beautiful girl the chance she's been waiting for all her life.

Please apply online and ask her foster mom Sandy all about her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gypsy, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
