My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Memorial: In Loving Memory- June 2023.

Putt, Putt. This sweet boy finally lost his battle to live a quality life due to some major health issues.  He was a 16 plus-year-old cocker boy and a lifetime haven dog due to heart health issues and then some other medical needs came up that made his life miserable. We did everything we could to help him live but couldn't save him as he got weak and lost his battle to live. In his memory we ask that you consider making a donation to help care for the other rescue dogs still available and needing homes. Thank you for your kindness!

Putnam, or Putt, Putt as we called him was a small, blonde 16 plus year old plus cocker boy. One New Year's Day, He was lost and wondering the roads until he was picked up as a stray in West Virginia by Animal Control. Because no owner showed up to claim him and he was older, the shelter asked for rescue help to get him updated on vet care and find him a good home.

He was heartworm negative, kind of shy and just a real sweet guy that was pretty well house trained. He wasn't able to find his forever home because heart health issues came up that would not get better. He would have been a wonderful companion for someone to adopt and love but his heart issues continued to get worse and now there was nothing we could do to make it any better except keep him on meds. Recently, some other medical issues came up and we did what we could to save him but it wasn't meant to be and we had to say goodbye. Putt Put would greatly appreciate it if you could donate to this rescue to help with the care of all the cocker dogs now up for adoption or those in lifetime haven care like Honey. Please send your donation to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or by PayPal to larrydonnacarp@aol.com. Thank you for your kindness to help our rescue dogs.

Donations Needed and Appreciated: This sweet cocker boy has come to rescue and needs a major dental with teeth removal. He is a senior, so he will need fluids and antibiotics. Please help CCR to pay his vet bills, we need to raise $300 to $400 dollars for his vet care.

More about this rescue

My husband and I have been involved in rescue for many years. We started our own cocker rescue back in 2001. Our hope is to continue the work we love in helping as many homeless and shelter cockers find happy new forever homes.
