Patch the fabulous one eyed wonder dog, he is a 2 1/2-year old male Maltase mix. He weights 11 lbs, and is about 11 inches tall. He is a very sweet dog that is full of energy and loves to snuggle with you on the couch. He knows some basic commands, is house trained, loves walks and learning to heal on leash.
The vet believes that his eye became infected while on the street and it was surgically removed in December. He came through the surgery and recovery like a champ and you wouldn't know he only has one eye and will eventually that will be covered by his hair. It doesn’t effect him at all and is like a dog with both eyes.
He is great at home with the family and is nondestructive when left alone. A treat filled kong keeps him entertained for hours. He adapted well to our older children and other dogs he knows. Not sure about cats or younger children. He can be protective around strangers where he will do some fearful barking though he stops as soon as he knows he is safe.
Patch is really a funny dog. He loves to play; running away in a game of chase, fetching his toys, and does this cute paw thing. He will also happily sit in your lap while you are at the computer, watching tv, or just sitting down. Patch is naturally curious and is gaining confidence in the outside world. He is a young guy who hasn't lost his spirt and so sweet and affectionate you'll love him forever.
Patch’s adoption fee is $225. He is being fostered in the Mountain View area.
