Missy's Story...
By the time her first birthday rolled around, Missy had found herself knocked up and at a local animal shelter. While in the shelter, she came down with a bad upper respiratory infection. The shelter didn't have the funds to treat her and needed to stop the spread of infection, so all of the cats already infected ended up on the euthanasia list. The volunteers at the shelter sent out a plea for help, and because one of our foster moms stepped up, we were able to save her and her unborn babies. Only days after being rescued, Missy gave birth to four cute kittens. Even though Missy was very sick, she took excellent care of her babies. Missy's foster mom nursed her back to health while she was nursing her babies.

All of Missy's babies have now been adopted, now it's her turn! Help us give Missy her turn at a forever home

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
